Collection Update: Sailor Moon World Coloring Book and Printable Coloring Pages

We love to color, it's a fun and relaxing way to spend some free time (which is probably why it's a trend lately).  Of course it's always extra fun to combine hobbies, so we were really happy to recently add this Sailor Moon coloring book to our collection:

Sailor Moon World Coloring Book
We're referring to this as a coloring book but it's more of a coloring pad, it flips open at the top and has single images on each page. This has some really cute unique images in it too for example:

Adorable Ami and Rei Coloring page
It's really unclear what the heck those two are doing, Rei's getting Ami ready for her wedding maybe? They're in a fashion show? Whatever is happening, it's a lovely image and has a lot of options for creative coloring. There's also some less fanciful images like this one:

Haruka and Michiru coloring page

This cute little image of Haruka and Michiru, is a little more standard in terms of how they're portrayed but is still really, really adorable.

One problem with coloring books though, is that they're usually a single use item, you get to color each beautiful page once and never again. So with most of our collectible coloring books, we just never color in them and enjoy the line art. With this one we decided the images were too cute not to color, so we decided to scan them all so we can print them at our leisure and color them as many items as we want. Here's one of the finished results:

Makoto and Mina
Not the greatest photo of my finished page, but it's a really cute image and I enjoyed coloring it.

As we already scanned the whole book we decided to put the scans up on our site to share as printable coloring pages, so feel free to print and color the senshi along with us. :)

Collection Update: New Cels

Cel collecting is still our main collecting interest but we no longer get to add as often as we'd like to. We still managed to snag a couple of nice pieces in the last few months though.

First up a Crazy faced Luna:

It's just not a cel gallery update without a Sailor Moon cel, and usually one of the delightful Moon cats. Today we have this great cel of a swirly eyed Luna, we haven't IDed the episode yet, but given the amount of time Luna spends exasperated it could be from almost any ep in any season.

Second is Jingoro from Kimagure Orange Road:

This AMV made use fall in love with Jingoro, the big fat cat from KOR. We've been looking for a cel of him since we first saw it many years ago. Unfortunately finding art of Jingoro has proved difficult and while we snagged a sketch of him previously we'd never seen a cel of him. So I was thrilled to find this cel and give it to Jen for Christmas.

Third is this model cel from the Mario Cartoon:

The Mario cartoon series isn't great, but I've always loved it regardless. So I was thrilled to get this model cel of Mario. I'm a little sad that only one Mario is painted, but given that I haven't seen any other model cels from the series I'm pretty excited to have snagged this one at all.

Finally this gorgeous shot of Shuro from Ayashi no Ceres:

Shuro was always one of the more interesting celestial descendants due to her gender swapping and singing career. Like all the descendants of Ceres she's also absolutely gorgeous (luckily for the boys on our prettiest anime boys list she identifies as female when given the opportunity or she'd might have had to dethrone one of them). Ceres cels are really hit or miss in terms of quality but this one is one of the best looking ones we've seen and we're happy to have in our collection.

That's it for now, not that many but still some really beautiful pieces we feel very lucky to own. We hope you enjoy looking at them as much as we do.

Collection Update: NES Friday the Thirteenth Jason Action Figure Comic Con 2013 Exclusive

If you've read our blog before it's probably obvious that our regular writers enjoy the NES Friday the 13th game, perhaps more than just about anyone else. We've reviewed the game and it's hack September the 27th and play them on a fairly regular basis. So when we heard the announcement that Neca was making a specialty Jason figure based on the NES release, delightfully inaccurate color palette intact,  we were naturally insanely excited. Unfortunately we're pretty far away from California, and couldn't really justify a trip there for a single awesome action figure (Naturally there are other things at Comic Con that would be awesome too but that's irrelevant to this story) Luckily Richard has an acquaintance that was going and was willing to pick them up for us. So a few days after Comic Con this handsome guy arrived in MN:

Obviously this isn't strictly a new collection addition since we've had him since August, but he's seasonally appropriate and certainly a cool rarity. Neca really did a fantastic job with this figure from a fangirl point of view. First up we've got the box:

I really like the NECA seal of quality

The front of the box is a  pretty fantastic replica of the Original NES box with some obvious changes like the Comic Con logo, and replacing the Nintendo seal of quality.

The back of the box:

The back is less accurate to the game box than the front, but still extols Jason's many virtues. Since this is a collector's figure this also has a snazzy viewing window and inner flap:

That text should be on a stark black background but I enjoy the 8-bit cabin
This is one of my favorite display boxes for any figure, the cabin background and on screen display graphics are just aces. Though you're not fooling anyone Neca, we know that's Mark. Also, while I feel that the "You and your friends are dead." text really belongs on the appropriate stark black background so you can really channel the nostalgic feelings of failure most of us associate with this game. The lake cabin is very visual appealing. But this is a figure not a box so we should explore what's in this fantastic packaging.

Here's Jason:

Jason comes packaged with his trademark extra large machete and an axe, both of which glow in the dark for extra fun. I'm a little upset about the axe, in the game the axe is very short and looks more like a hairbrush. I would have much preferred the hair brush axe or just a tiny hair brush, that would have been ideal actually. His mask also glows in the dark (as do his feet and hands) and is removable:

Jason with all his accessories.

He never takes his mask off in game, but since Neca based this figure on their Friday the 13th part III figure they just used the same face. Here's a comparison shot*:

So now we know Jason looks cool, but what about the action portion of his action figure status, you may ask? Well he doesn't have a lot of points of articulation but he gets the job done but he's a pretty good poser we took a few shots with him and our other action figures:

Falling asleep while on Special ops at Camp Crystal lake was a bad idea Snake

The power of love and Justice is no match for the power of vengeful fury

Overall NES Jason is pretty cool. Sure he's basically a clone of Neca's Jason from Friday the 13th part III with glow in the dark parts, and a very purplish blue color scheme, but that color scheme matters when you love the NES game like we do.

Collection Update: A Work in Progress Version 2

So last month I posted that we had been spending a lot of time going through our collections and properly organizing/displaying/loving them and while we've been greatly delayed due to some family things that needed attending to we've gotten a lot of work done on our collection room. It still needs a lot of work, but we're getting there.

First up, the doorway, because well, it's a small room so even the doorway needs to be utilized to display stuff.

In this Picture is: A Mario Brothers 2 clock, The Mario Brothers TV tray, The Link Mask, A Mario Transitor Radio, Rare official Nintendo promo pixel graphics,  A vintage (though unofficial) final fantasy 7 poster,  Nintendo Power Backpack with Mario and link (there's also a matching folding inside), Metal Gear 2 complete set of McFarlane figures, Kyo plush from Fruits basket, a unicorn puffkin, Some random unicorns plushies, a stuffed octopus and Matel Legend figure set of Matel and Emeraldas. Off to the left side you can see the first shelf which I'll be describing next.

Now on to the first Shelf MWA HA HA HA!

A LOT more geekery after the jump

Collection Update: A Work in Progress

Haven't done a collection update (or much of anything else in a long while. Mostly because we've been pulling our old geeky stuff out of storage and sorting through it. It's a work in progress.

So far it's gone from making things that look like this:

Into things that look more like this:

This is a large portion of our sailor moon collection. Though still not all of it.Of particular interest to other collectors is probably the Moon House, Our full set of Irwin pretty face dolls including super moon and Saturn, The lovely German Queen Beryl, Dancing Princess Serenity, Dream Pocket Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Eternal Sailor Moon, A super rare Furoku bag of Usagi as Mermaid (currently holding sailor moon wrapping paper), and a music playing crisis locket. We've got a whole host of other stuff including some really weird things including a inflatable ring, a travel toothbrush set and an omelet maker. But if I cataloged it all I could be here for hours (and that's still not all of it).
And into things that look like this:

This is much more multifandom, but with a heavy emphasis on vintage Mario. Of particular interest in this picture is probably: The rare 1-up mushroom Japanese coin bank, The Mario Kart Phone, The Mario Puppet Cooler, an almost complete set of Japanese Pepsi Mario Brothers caps, and naturally more sailor moon stuff (it's everywhere!) including a materials artbook.  In addition that that there's a bunch of diecast X-men figures, some sonic the hedgehog stuff, more Pokemon than you can shake a stick and other geeky stuff we like(which is a lot).

And to a slightly Lesser extent, we've been making things that look like This:

We clearly can't be allowed to have figures. I mean sure it's hilarious that Picard and Warf are sharing a dance in front of a video game convention. But things are clearly gonna turn ugly as soon as Godzilla tries to cut in for the next dance. And you can't see it in that picture, but a little ways away Dr. Crusher has Stolen Epona and the master Sword, which can't be good for Hyrule.

Like I said before, it's been a work in progress. We've gone through 9 bins of our stuff, and there's still some more we haven't touched. So it's going to be awhile, but we're both looking forward to proudly displaying our years of wasted money, awesome collections of nerdy stuff.

Oh and by the way, the room that houses our collection is also our guest room. So if you ever have occasion to visit, you know what you're in for. ;)

Cell Gallery Update!

We just updated our collection of cels and sketches in our gallery! As usual I'm just going to post a few highlights;

Buyo from Inuyasha:

I bought this for Jen as an end of semester present. She's not actually to the end of the semester yet, but I gave it to her early as she needed a pick me up. I'll be putting it in her gallery at some point, but I thought it was too good not to put in ours as well.

A very smug faced Usagi from Sailor Moon:

We just couldn't resist Usagi's fantastic facial expression here.

And what we're most excited about, a new section for art from CLAMP's Clover music video:
We've been hoping to see art from this as soon as we saw the video years ago. We feel so lucky to have gotten beautiful sketches and backgrounds. The background and sketch sets were certainly our rarest and most important purchase this year. We're still squeeing with joy over them.

Collection update: Here be Dragons

We just updated our cel gallery recently with more than just cels. A few months ago we managed to get some awesome concept drawings of a dragon. They were apparently supposed to be for a Las Vega theme park that never got off the drawing board. These are Cool dragons on their own, but to make things better they were drawn by Jeff Dee who is a fantasy artist best known for his contributions to Dungeons and Dragons books and modules. GEEK SCORE! So we thought we'd share them here as well:

A great shot of the dragon sleeping on his treasure pile.
The Dragon breathing fire well more likely smoke given that it was supposed to be a theme park and you probably wouldn't want to start your guests on fire.

We added other geeky stuff to the gallery as well.... Our My Little Pony additions spring to mind. So go check out our gallery if you're interested in that sort of stuff.

Collection Update: Link Pillowcase

So, this is a bit of a lag in coming. I should have updated it last month as I begged for it for my birthday and got it. I think anyone who reads this normally knows I'm a little slow though. Anyway here's the only collectible item I can think of that I use more than the glasses case I talked about yesterday, my Link Pillowcase:
Zelda Link quilted pillow case
Now I can't think of anyone I'd rather take to bed every night than 8-bit Link. I wish we could take credit for creating this beauty, but it was instead a very talented Etsy seller who made him for us. There are quite a number of similar 8-bit character cases available on Etsy, but I wanted this one because of the fabric choices and the quality. It's seen constant use since October and has stood up to snuggles, smooshes, drooling and cleaning without any issues. I'm insanely pleased with it. If anyone is interested in the seller's name do drop me a note as I can't recommend anyone more highly. Though fair warning, it's a pretty steep price for a pillow case, I had to have my own pillow on hand to fill it with and it was still more than a set of 600 thread count Egyptian cotton cases.

I'd really like to get an entire set of pixel pillows made for the couch in my geek room, but that would require a lot more cash than I have and a couch nice enough to put them on. I'm going to go ahead and file that under "pipe dreams" for now, but I think anyone would have to admit, it would be pretty freaking awesome.

Not surprisingly we have lots of other geek bedding materials as well, Jen has two sailor moon pillows on the bed normally and we have a bevy of character sheets including: sailor moon, care bears, Pokemon and rainbow brite. Though I can never seem to score a set of vintage Mario and Zelda ones. :( I'm sure I will someday. In the meantime, maybe one day I'll get around to taking pictures of our incredibly unsexy "boudoir" collections.

Mario's magic mushrooms

If you really think about the plot of Super Mario Brothers it clearly refers to Mario and Luigi having ingested something that's probably not legal, and definitely not safe. All the signs are there: The environment being the Mushroom Kingdom, the Mushrooms make them "super", and it all being accessible from the world's largest plumbing pipes. I could be more specific than that about it, but it's been done besides it's just groundwork before I post one of our newest collection additions, a vintage ruler:

I would like to refer to this as the Mario's bad trip ruler. I mean just looking in Mario's eyes gives you no doubt that he's not exactly sober. His dead run with a mushroom in a death grip just adding to the whole back alley addict persona. When you add in crazy mushroom toting Mario to some of the meanest renditions of the mushroom kingdom's resident baddies I've ever seen and what look like real bullets not bullet bills...well...It looks like Mario got one of the not-so-super mushrooms this time.

This is seriously one of the clearest depictions of the often spoofed, dark side of the mushroom kingdom* I've ever seen on an official item. And just for added comedic effect, it's on a child's pencil boxed sized ruler. This isn't quite strange enough to be a collection oddities post but it is just the sort of awful item we love owning.

~Stephanie

*For additional information on the seedy underbelly of the mushroom kingdom I suggest watching this video, it's bleeped but probably still NSFW due to language.

NaBloWriMo, it's like a Tonberry

It's November 1st the first exciting day of the first year of NaBloWriMo and NaNoWriMo if you're way cooler than we are and doing that.

I thought I'd start off with the sort of entry I started off this blog intending to make. An entry that helps us chronicle our large and often silly collection of geeky items ( Hence the subtitle a collection of geekery) and is hopefully helpful and/or entertaining to others who share our interests.

So I'm going to focus on one of the most recent additions to our collections, a plush Tonberry.

We generally avoid plushies, but just couldn't resist this one, I personally am an especially big fan of his little fishy tail.

Tonberries have been present in some form since Final Fantasy 5 (initially known as dingleberries or Pugs in the NA releases), but my first experience with a Tonberry came in Final Fantasy 7. I was making my way to the final battle in the Northern Cave, I'd been playing for I'd guess around an hour since the last save point when a Tonberry popped up. First I was confused.

This thing is so tiny and cute! What's it doing down here? All these other monsters are huge and terrible. Hee Hee look at his little knife, and that cute little star.*

*As though facing a tonberry completely obliviously isn't bad enough, this was a MASTER Tonberry as well.

So I attacked and it counterattacked the party with "everyone's grudge", it hurt of course, but it wasn't totally life threatening especially given the ridiculously high level we were all on. So I healed up and kept attacking and he kept counter attacking, while slowly moving forward.

I wonder why it's moving. Ha! It feel down, That's so cute!

This line of thinking continued until it made it to one of my party members (Cloud probably) and used "Chef's Knife"

Hee Hee, Doink! Even it's attacks are cu... HEY WTF! CLOUD'S DEAD! THAT REALLY HURT

I foolishly convinced myself that chefs knife was probably something like 1000 needles, it hurt the crap out of you, but you could handle it assuming the rest of the party was in good shape. Besides it was small and cute how many hit points could it really have left? I'd been pummeling it for at least a dozen turns now and unleashed a few limit breaks. I could handle this...

Later, staring at the game over screen.

F@$#$%*^% !!!!! I haven't saved in soo long, how could something so cute be so awful!

I think this little tale makes an excellent analogy for doing NaBloWriMo for me. Right now, it seems fun and easy and totally conquerable. However, I'm betting that by months end I'm going to be wondering why I didn't just turn and run as soon as I saw it. Luckily, I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a chef's knife, so I may just make it out OK this time.

Collection Oddities: Link Halloween Mask

It's October, and I'm a goth kid at heart so I've been trying to stick with a Halloween sort of theme for my posts. This weeks oddity post will be no different.

If You've managed to avoid looking at the title of this post I have a fun little look and find game for you. Find the terrifying oddity in this picture from our collection.

Is it that grown women have frightening number of Pokemon figures? No, everything about this is right and natural. Is it that so many bad bad Irwin ideas are clustered so close together? That is truly horrifying, but isn't it either. Then, It's certainly got to be that Mario doll in the corner that looks like something that should get Nintendo sued by the Italian American Defamation League. Good guess but still not horrifying enough.
Give up?

Let's look a little closer shall we?

Anyone got any guesses on why we've got a frightening plastic disembodied leprechaun head? Because we're sick twisted people, would be a good guess and technically a correct one, but not the droids I'm looking for. I'm looking for the answer that is the most correct, just like one of those annoying standardized tests. The answer lies behind the mask. Let's just take a peak at the tag.

It's a bit blurry because I can't keep my hands steady to save my life. It reads Link - The Legend of Zelda. 1988 Nintendo of America.

That horrifying monstrosity is in fact a deception of our favorite Hyrulean Hero, Link. Someone at Nintendo thought no one would notice if they just put some eye holes in some old plastic St.Patrick's day wall decorations and sold them as Link Halloween masks. Well, people didn't notice this was the 80's and so all costume masks were kind of like this anyway. I fondly remember going out Halloween as voltron many years and having an equally as uncomfortable unbreathable plastic mask, so I guess I can't knock it too badly. Though at least voltron looked like voltron, if you wear this people are just going to think you really enjoyed the Leprechaun series of B movies.

I got Jen to model it for the camera.

This thing is absolutely terrifying when it's on a human being. It completely covers the head and part of the neck making for some undeniably eerie doll like motions towards your companions. Those angry eyebrows and wide plastic smile don't help the situation any. Though as the wearer things aren't a lot better as there's a nagging feeling of slowly suffocating in old plastic.

Any reasonable person would make the equally as reasonable suggestion that this thing should be tossed in a fire before cursing the household. But I think we've shown time and time again that we are not reasonable people. I absolutely love this thing because it so weird and horrifying. I don't think we've got anything else that can match it's creepy factor. An object truly befitting of our oddities collection.

If you feel your life is missing one of these as of 10/31/16 we've got one for sale in our shop.

Collection update, more thrift finds!

I probably don't have to say this again, but I will, we love thrifting. The majority of things we're interested in adding to our collections is 10 years old or more, which means in the minds of many people, junk. So we're often finding all sorts of tossed out goodies. My favorite find was probably this coleco pac-man mini arcade still in the original box with original price tag. and still working for $5. I'm too lazy to take pictures of it right now, but I assure you it is an awesome thing. We've got all sorts of good stuff over the years that way and maybe if I ever get around to it, I'll post pictures of some of our older collections.

In the meantime, here's what we scored recently at our local thrift stores:

From the upper left hand corner:
Wing commander III PC game Complete in box with all inserts
McFarlane's Dragons series 2 Berserker Clan Dragon NIP though we'll be taking him out and proudly displaying him soon.
Tomb Raider III Lara figure in wet suit, her box is pretty beaten up, but as we haven't decided whether or not we're going to keep her because she's not in her normal outfit.
Two NES Control Pads in fantastic working condition, practically mint and only $1 each!
Odium for the PC
Carmen Sandiego's Think quick
The super Nova of light is Carmen Sandiego's word detective a cereal box game or I'd not have bought it without an original case, but I love Carmen Sandiego games(as I'm sure is obvious from my last retro review) so I had to get it too.
Hard to see, but over the top of the PC games is an Original Mario Brothers Game Watch, it needs a new battery, but looks like it should work just fine once we grab one. Woot!

All that stuff cost us around $25 including tax, but the joy all that useless old junk brings us is truly priceless. :)

Wings of Redemption Spawn (series 32) and June's coupon code

One of my larger collections and one I don't think I've really discussed in this blog before is action figures. I will collect figures from any show/comic/movie/whatever if they're interesting looking. I especially love the super detailed highly articulated figures which means I end up with a lot of Mcfarlane figures, thus a lot of Spawn figures. However, If I tried to collect ALL the mcfarlane figures or even just ALL the spawn figures, I'd be completely broke all the time and have absolutely no space in the house. So, I try to keep some sort of focus, I try to only collect spawn figures with wings and repaints of The Heap. All sorts of other figures sneak in there as well, but those are what my primary McFarlane figure collection consists of and the ones I break out of the box immediately as I want to enjoy them. My latest addition is to my favorite, the wings of redemption series. The wings of redemption figures are based on the cover of issue #77 it shows spawn with a mighty pair of white feather angel wings. The first figure was released in series 21 and has had a couple of subsequent repaints and re-releases. My latest edition is the most recent one from series 34. This one feature a much more dynamic pose than the first, though it does not at all resemble the cover. The detail is the sort I've come to expect from a Mcfarlane figure, I am especially fond of the detail on each individual feather in the outstretched wings. I am however disappointed to note that this would be better called a plastic statute then an action figure. There are only 4 points of articulation none of which are particularly useful for changing the look. I realize I can't expect too much articulation as the pose isn't really intended for it,especially as he rather delicately hovers over the base(not shown in in my pictures) as is. but I really did expect to be able to do a little more with it. Also of note is that this one is much smaller than the other WOR spawns (barring the 3" trading versions). Overall this is gorgeous figure and while not as popular among collectors as the other WOR figures, it is a truly beautiful figure well worth the purchase price. One note though, this figure should be taken out of the package to be truly enjoyed. I've never been one to keep my figures in packages anyway, but I understand collectors wanting to keep everything completely mint. However this one looks like practically nothing in the package, it's well worth breaking the factory sealing for.

Next up, I set up the store coupon code for June: JuneBlog it will get you 17% off any order over $1 :) And I recently updated some fun things to use it on. The most interesting thing is probably A complete import copy of Kirby's Dreamland 2 (which has incredibly adorable box art!). I love that the gameboy and the DS are region free and use that to collect quite a few import titles that are either otherwise available in the states or when I just enjoy the import box art more. We're planning on a mid June vacation so we'll be adding loads more soon to help add to our trip funds so if you don't see something interesting now you might see something interesting next week.

Collection Oddities: Sailor Moon Light Up Vanity Case Review

As just about everyone who collects Sailor moon knows, Irwin toys Canada released a whole load of sometimes wonderful and sometimes weird merchandise that was never seen anywhere else in the world. So as we recently added one of theses oddities to our collection, we decided to showcase it. So here's my brief review of The Sailor Moon Light up vanity Case.
First order of business the box, It's got the same basic look as all other Sailor Moon toys from this period: dark blue box, North American Sailor Moon logo and item title on a pink "ribbon". Both the front and back of the box are the same except one is in English and one in French. It differs from the boxes of most SM items though in that it doesn't really use any images from the anime. Instead they opted to have a particularly frightening looking young girl sneer into a mirror. Sneering girl also isn't actually using any of the items contained in the kit nor is she even half-heartedly attempting to look like one of the senshi. I recognize that this item in no way correlates to anime or manga and was basically just a random money maker, but you'd think they'd have tried a least a little bit harder.

Moving on...The incredibly helpful blurb of text on the box says: Get ready for a big adventure with the sailor moon vanity case. Comes with everything you need to look like a superheroine! When you open the lid the lights come on and you'll find lights of storage compartments. Going somewhere special? Just grab the handle and bring your handy vanity case along!

With a description like that we can hardly wait to take it out of the box, right!?
Note the aforementioned handle and the mind-blowingly awful picture of the senshi stuck in a heart shape on the front. It's as though someone at Irwin thought to themselves, "You know what would make a good image to use on this vanity case, that fanart I had my three year old sailor moon hating nephew draw."

Now let's turn our attention to opening the case in vain attempt to think of something other than that awful awful image of the senshi on the outside.

Unfortunately, opening the case doesn't help a lot in that respect. :( The same deranged three year old nephew apparently drew the battery compartment image of Serena/Usagi as well, though he improved a little bit this time. As you can see the little blurb wasn't lying, there are lots of comparments full of goodies and while we didn't bother to put the batteries in to test them you can clearly see the lights which flank your little mirror. Though honestly the whole thing seems way out of proportion why would you need lights that large (and two of them no less) for a mirror that small? Which also begs the question, if you're going to make something like a vanity case why make it with such a small mirror? Generally speaking, I think even superheroines would like to see the entirety of their faces while getting prepared to save the world rather than viewing awkward thirds of it.

So far this isn't really a spectacular item is it? But, that's only because we haven't discussed all the goodies that will help you transform into a sailor scout, even when you're on the go!

Henshin HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~ (hardgay style)
So here's what comes in the case starting from the left:

*Super awesome plastic hairbrush decorated with a sailor senshi sticker illustrated by Deranged Nephewtm!

*Large plastic clip on earrings which loosely resemble Usagi's.

*2 small plastic hair curlers with a little plastic base to hold them upright. (I know when I painstakingly curl my hair with just two rollers I need them in upright position at all times)

*A small make-up palette of some sort. I want to say it's lipstick because of the colors, but given the applicator I think it's supposed to be eyeshadow. Though it really doesn't matter because the palette itself is a sticker and the applicator is solid hard plastic. Which while much better for parents really sucks the joy out things for a little girl.

* A moon and star themed decorative hair comb which is made out of plastic too soft to really make it wearable.

*Two pink plastic bangles, one of which is solid and the other is made out of pop beads and would be completely unwearable due to being just one bead short to properly bend and hold together. Even using it for display to take pictures it was difficult to make it stay together apparently it would have cost Irwin too much to add that extra bead to every single kit so sending out defective bracelets was the ONLY option available.

*A metal chain with a plastic bauble that's an unholy hybrid of both the star locket and transformation brooch. Ours is super special due to the sideways facing sticker.

*Two moon and star themed hair clips. Like the hair comb, these are made out of incredibly soft plastic which makes them very difficult to wear. Which is actually a shame because otherwise the cutest and most wearable item the case contains.

*A generic strand of plastic pearls.

So...no henshin for us :(

The only things that could be remotely useful for cosplay as far as the accessories go are the earrings, and the locket/brooch hybrid. Possibly the pearls if used as a hair ornament for princess serenity.

Overall though this has to be one of the most poorly researched and hastily put together officially licensed sailor moon items ever. It's really only of interest if you're a completionist and/or just like official oddities.

Luckily for us we're in that second category and tend gravitate towards collecting weird things so it's right at home in our collection and we're happy to have it. :)
